Earlier this week, results were announced for Afghanistan’s public universities’ entrance exam. Unlike the previous years, this year, there are no women included in the top 10.
The National Board of entrance Examinations announced the results of the 2022 entrance Examination during a press conference on Saturday, November 4, but no women are seen in the top 10 list.
The overall 1st position in this year's entrance exam has come to a young man from Herat, Sulaiman, with 355.42 points. Similarly, Mohammad Shabir of Kabul province has come 2nd with 355.32 points, and Mohammad Zia of Ghazni province has come 3rd with 353.93 points.
In the results of this year's entrance examination, no women was seen up to the 10 positions, while in previous years, dozens of women were included in the list.
This is while the Taliban, along with other restrictions against women and girls, have imposed restrictions on the selection of faculties for women in the entrance exams. Taliban previously stated that in this year's entrance exam, Afghan girls did not have the right to choose many departments, including Agriculture, Veterinary, and Engineering.
This is while Afghan girls have not had access to school education for over a year, and the schools remain closed. If no changes is brought, no female student will graduate in the coming years, making it even more difficult for them to move forward at all.
